About Paczków
Coat of arms
The black eagle of St. John the Evangelist against the background of gold colour, holding a green twig of an olive-tree. The emblem of the oldest seal from the 13th century relates with its motifs (a half of an eagle) to the Silesian Piast (duke of Wrocław) who was the owner of the city at those times. The lilies indicate the bishopric of Wrocław, and particularly bishop Thomas I, the founder of Paczków. The later seals with the motif of the eagle of St. John the Evangelist relate to the patron of the local parish church.
