Paczków

The Paczków commune is located in the south-west part of the Opole Voivodship , in the Nysa district, on the very well-known Sudeten Route from Nysa to Kłodzko, which is an integral part of the road connecting Silesia and Lesser Poland with the „touristic treasure trove“ of Lower Silesia – the Kłodzka Basin.
This unique picturesque area is characterized by interesting cultural monuments and many natural resources, inter alia by a diversified region, neighbourhood to the three reservoirs (Otmuchowski Lake, Nysa Lake and Paczków Reservoir) as well as the aforementioned nearness to the Kłodzka region and the Sudeten.

In the west and north Paczków borders on the Voivodship Lower Silesia (Złoty Stok commune, Kamieniec Ząbkowicki commune and Ziębice commune), in the east Otmuchów commune and in the south it borders on the Czech Republic. The area of the commune is crossed by two important traffic roads. One of them isthe national road no. 46 (so-called Sudeten Route) which runs from Częstochowa through Opole and Nysa to Kłodzko, on the contrary the second one (regional road no. 382) runs in the area of Świdnica (through Ząbkowice Śląskie, possible traffic connection with the national road no. 8 – direction Wroclaw).

The seat of the commune is Paczków - a small town which was localized by the bishop Tomasz I from Wroclaw in 1254.
The town perfectly maintained its historical background and draws the attention of many tourists with the extremely good kept monuments and the Middle Ages atmosphere filled with mystery.
The touristic values of Paczków are extraordinary. Since many years tourists, who hike along the Sudeten Route, have visited the „Polish Carcassonne” and come back to this small town again and again later on.
